I want to install the AgentOnboard skill and MCP server:

1. For skill, run:

Your secret key (aon_live_...) is configured directly on the client transport. It is never stored in Claude Code’s persistent conversation history or prompt cache.

1. Install the agent skill

Installs workflow instructions so Claude Code understands auth.md discovery:

Run in your terminal (replace <YOUR_API_KEY> with your live key):

3. Reload session

/exit (then restart session) to initialize the new tools.

Frequently asked about Claude Code

Does Claude Code see my raw AgentOnboard API key?

No. The API key is stored in Claude Code's user-scoped MCP configuration as an HTTP Authorization header. When Claude calls get_token, the MCP client sends the header directly to our HTTPS server. The key never enters the LLM conversation window or shell history.

What tools does Claude Code get?

AgentOnboard exposes whoami (verifies connection) and get_token (mints 5-minute domain-scoped RS256 JWTs). Claude calls get_token automatically when an API request returns 401 or requires authentication.

How do I verify the setup works?

In Claude Code, ask: 'Run the whoami tool and tell me which AgentOnboard account is connected.' Claude will output your verified email address.
